Where the heavy floods cleanse out deep, dark
bedrock of old earth,
there will be life.
Searching streams cannot contain themselves.
Dropping and cracking, droplets of time
repeating again.

The heavens watch the water skipping,
after the clouds had
left to far lands
leaving the soil to smoke; all sun-kissed,
panting and heaving up warm incense.
Soft ground all dewy.

The wind has its way; it shall not change.
Steward far above,
swift husbandman,
with gray clouds in tow sowing verdant
pastures and cutting out stony ruts.
Blowing and wailing.
